Christmas, as you have probably worked out by all the comment here, is the same tradition wise as everywhere else. We put up the tree, have the lights, sing the same songs and Santa and the boys hang out as well.
A lot of people sit down on christmas day to a traditional dinner as well. The turkey, ham and roast veggies as well as plum pud…we pig out in the sweltering heat.
Some people have adopted a bit more 'better suited to the summer' type lunch…salads, prawns, lobster and bbq…have to say it works much better for me. Oh and White Christmas on tv is a must. Gotta get a snow fix somehow.
We are having a decorating contest in my neighborhood too! I admit, I went pretty crazy last year. (Cotton as fake snow, reindeer, the whole nine) So I basically have to outdo last year! I cheated a bit, and bought this book

Several years ago, I was cast in a national touring company of these "Reader's Digest" versions of "The Taming of the Shrew" and "Julius Caesar."
The texts were horribly adapted, the show was abysmally directed, and I can't say much for my fellow cast members, either. Suffice it to say that this two-month event seemed to go on for about 20 years…!
But, the WORST thing about the experience was being up on stage in front of a bunch of High School kids all across the U.S., and KNOWING that this early exposure to Shakespeare was destined to sour many of them on his plays for the rest of their lives. Man, THAT was a terrible burden to bear.
