It really doesn't matter what lights light up. If the sensor bar senses them you should be fine.
Any light that fits socket, and has right voltage will "burn" in the "light", –and put out light foreward of vehicle (if aimed that way")! Now the color it makes could be interesting!! This depends on what color the light bulb and the lens is – and how "much" color each has!! The foreward vision in fog would also be "variable" results!

The Northern Lights have been seen as far south as London, and are often seen in Northern Scotland, but I would think the skies over Glasgow are to heavily light polluted to see anything accept a few major stars and the Moon.
My guess if it was white, high level 'lenticular' clouds, these are highly reflective and could be reflecting sunlight from below the horizon, a not unusual phenomenon in the UK.

Hmm, that's odd. If I were to wildly speculate, it could be that you have fewer or less sensitive green light receptors, for some reason, so that when your eyes get hit by a bright mixed light source, your eyes register more red and blue and less green, resulting in the perception of white light which is a mixture of all three colors. Less intense colors might not do that do you because there are less light rays of all colors hitting your eyes, so your green receptors don't get "maxed out" while your red and blue receptors continue to register more light past that point.
That's a really seat-of-the-pants explanation on my part, though, and I don't know if it would work in real life. Just speculating!

I am getting old.. a name for it.. wow… when I was teaching it was called out of focus abstract try at art photography.. this image as an example is not all that good when I recall what my students would come up with. Best images like this I have seen were when My eyes were being worked on last year and medicated.. wide open, no glasses on and everything in the world was WAY out of focus… what a trip and no drugs needed… but I digress…
No editing needed, just being able to un-focus and open your lens up as wide as it can go.. Then go find nice colors, prime color lights work great as do neon light signs. Good luck

Okay, it sounds like you want to set up a room to house your turtles (or at least your spare closet). What you put outside the tanks doesn't really matter if the turtles can't get to them. If the tanks are only for swimming and the turtles can get out and roam freely, anything that looks like leave should either be edible (if alive) or out of their reach (adult water turtles will eat vegetation as they get older). A sand box isn't necessary, but a tub of dirt might encourage them to lay eggs. Knowing that they've laid, finding the eggs and hatching them is a different matter. For lighting, you should have both a heat lamp (for warmth) and a UVB lamp for vitamin D sysnthesis so they can keep their bones and shell in good condition. The UVB needs to be placed so they can get within 10" of the tube.
All this really depends on the type of turtle you want. Turtles are semi-aquatic, so they'll need water they can get in and out of to swim. Red-eared sliders are the most popular, and these can get 14" or so across their shell. If you want something that doesn't need as much water, look at tortoises – there are some types that only get around a foot, and only need a pan to soak in, rather than swim. Of course there are tortoises that get around 3 feet across thier shells as well, but you might not want to keep them inside unless you can give them an entire room (or basement).
Smell isn't a major problem for turtles as long as you do frequent water changes and clean the filter for the semi-aquatic types. For tortoises, you need to change the water in the pan every day and soak them twice a week (they use water as a place to go to the bathroom).

This is happening all over the UK in places where councils have sense.
The yellow lights are filled with low pressure sodium vapour gas. They are cheap to produce but relatively inefficient to run. The yellow light also distorts real colours so that it's difficult to clearly and accurately identify the colour of another vehicle.
Also, most of the lamp "heads" are badly designed so that about 60% of the light output is thrown towards the sky instead of the road. This is a waste of electricity and causes light pollution. This is easily visible from an aeroplane at night. The "pretty cities" glowing are a tremendous waste of money.
The new lights are often mercury vapour filled bulbs. These give a very effective white light for better visibility and use less electricity to run. The lamp heads are also designed so that the light is thrown down onto the road instead of trying to illuminate clouds. Some light is reflected up from road surfaces but that is a tiny amount compared to what the low pressure sodium types waste.
