I like it so far! In some places it seemed like you were more telling, but that could be changed easily. Like in the beginning when you were stating how Jeremy was emotional and dependent, and Calla was independent and distant, don't tell us, show us in the writing. By the way the characters act and talk, we should know. Like how Jeremy wanted bedtime stories, but Calla thought he was too old. It shows Jeremy is more of a little kid and Calla is more into rational thought and thinking about reality. Then you can tell by the fact her father didn't like it they weren't exactly on the same page.
anyway, all in all, it was very very good. I loved it a lot and think besides the telling, it was written very well. Good luck with your writing!

Awww… that sounds a lot like ours. Every year my two older brothers and I get an ornament on Christmas eve, of something we've done or liked during the year. We have discs from Disney World (Because of this I laughed when you mentioned Disney Land), three Pikachus from the year we actually memorized several Pokemon episodes, and many homemade ornaments from when we were younger. I love decorating the tree because it's fun to remember why we have all these ornaments. Oh and it's even more fun to turn the lights on because for years we've had a rocket ornament that counts down and Santa playing pinball. It reminds me of all the times on Christmas morning I've heard those sounds and known that in a few minutes we could all go out to the tree and exchange presents. Oh and my brother has a glass pickle. I don't think anyone remembers why. X3

Yes, I know that you can't live your life forever pleasing your parents, but they are still responsible for you because they pay for your food, the bed that you sleep in, your clothes, the insurance that takes of you when you're sick, and everything else that makes your life good. Because of that, they deserve the respect of acceptance of their rules, even if you think the rules suck.
A way to approach bringing it up to Mom would be to ask her if she remembers John Doe (your guy). "Hey, do you 'memba John from [whenever]? Well, I would like to invite him to come to church with us on Christmas Eve, and he's also taking me to Disneyland to see the Christmas lights on Sunday." If you bring church and Christmas into it, that might sway her. Don't even bring up the seriousness of it. Don't say that he's your "boyfriend". Wait to see how she reacts to the seemingly innocent suggestion of Church and Disneyland. If she has a problem with bringing him to Church, and him taking you to Disneyland … well, just get really good grades so that you can afford to move out as soon as possible and live your own life.
Until then, have as much fun as you can within the parameters they set down for you, and be grateful for the good things they give you. You sound like a great daughter, and they should be grateful for you as well (you might remind them of that, but in a respectful way).

We have four stuffed animals. Two of them are snowmen that look like their lower body is in a green sack or something. Then we have two little teddy bears with Santa hats. I always put them at the tree as best I can, even when they won't sit up correctly. I just always loved them when I was a kid.
The decorations I HATED were these fake candles we'd put in all the front windows. Two of my bedroom windows are in the front, and I just hated having those candles in there for some reason. Thinking about it now, I really have no clue why. I used to "accidentally" unplug them, though. hahaha

Well my family did disney on Dec 21-24 2007. We had alot of fun…
The wait time for rides was around 15 minutes, but there were CROWDS! Most of the crowds did not speak english and no one knows which side of the street to walk on, so that will be frustrating.
We did the 3 days of the Park…2 days at Magic Kingdom and the last day at animal kingdom. My daughter was only 4 so epcot & mgm were not in her age group. The Christmas decorations were all up everywhere the castle was all lit up at night, it was beautiful. We did not do the after hours christmas show. If you are going to do a disney dining expirence (we did dinner with pooh) schedule it early at an early time. The only opening for us was 9:00 and my daughter slept through the expirence. Also your kids will probably not be awake for the "light parade" either. We did alot of splitting meals there because my daughter wants to Go..Go..Go. So we spent less on meals than we budgeted. Oh by the way if the kids are passed out that would be a good time to go in the stores for those last minute Santa gifts or stocking stuffers. This was my first time at disney and seeing the "Magic" in my daughters eyes was litteraly bringing me to tears. If you don't choose to do the Christmas show…your kids won't know and they will probably be asleep anyway! They still have the christmas parades including Santa throughout the day but arrive at those early and figure out which side of the street the sun is not on!!!!! Hope I could help..
