If you have the equipment and you are determined to make something more of your Christmas tree, then go for it! Chinatown to Rockefeller Center is a looooong walk, like, 4 miles. You could take a subway or bus, of course, but it will still take a long time and, frankly, it really isn't worth it.
I would suggest you stay around the Rockefeller Center area and walk just a few blocks over to Times Square which is loaded with cool stuff to do.

When mine were that small I used to love to take them to displays like that. The movement and the colors were just fascinating to them! Beautiful Christmas tree – - like new .. has a metal stand .. it’s a tree from Paddock Pools .. tree only, not lights. It does have the extension cord already woven into the stem of the tree. I just don’t have the storage space for it. I wish I could keep it but would rather know it’s being well stored and taken care of and enjoyed by a family for next year. Enjoy and God Bless!! Granted I have only ever eaten here once before. However, I tried about four or five different dishes and really loved each one. Should you not be a fan of French food, there are other options in the West 50s and 40s. I like FireBird Cafe and Russian Samovar just because Russian food is something out of the ordinary and both these restaurants are textbook New York in both style and food.
Don't go to Alfredo's of Rome. Rotten food, literally.
Bar Americain would also be a nice restaurant to check out. This is one of Bobby Flay's offerings, I believe.
